5. Cascada El Cielo

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Cascada El Cielo: Head South of Monterrey on Highway 85 until you get to Camino a Parque La Estanzuela which you’ll take the entire way
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes around 2 and a half hours to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 4.0 miles
  • Elevation: 1,394 feet
  • More information: Cascada El Cielo 
  • This trail may be steep at times but it’s incredibly worth the muscle pain
  • There are marvelous natural pools here, you may have dreams about this area once you are gone
  • There is a pretty unique feature on this specific trail, one of which that goes by the name of waterfall. That’s right, there’s even a waterfall on this trail, come check it out!
  • This is an excellent trail to come on when it’s too hot to trot considering there is a lot of shade on this trail

4. Cerro de la Virgen de Shoenstatt

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to Cerro de la Virgen de Shoenstatt: Head South of Monterrey, get on Avenida Del Acueducto towards Privada Balcones until you see the signs
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes around 2 hours to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 3.0 miles
  • Elevation: 1,243 feet
  • More information: Cerro de la Virgen de Shoenstatt 
  • If you didn’t like the sound of how steep the last trail was, you’ll be happy to see that this trail is at least a bit less steep
  • This is an incredibly easy trail with scenic environments that will force your subconscious to remember this trail forever
  • Unlike the last trail though, this trail may not be the best trail to go on during days when the weather is blisteringly hot
  • In terms of Monterrey hiking, you cannot go wrong with this beautiful trail

3. Cerro El Chupón

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to Cerro El Chupón: Head South of Monterrey, get on Paseo de Los Eucaliptos. Get off at Liverpool and you will see it
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 2 hours to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 2.6 miles
  • Elevation: 1,272 feet

  • This is a very popular trail, you cannot go wrong with this hike. You are guaranteed to have a great time
  • Though it is a popular trail in the area you probably will not see many people
  • Another bonus when it comes to this trail is that you probably won’t encounter many mosquitos
  • When you spend a day in Monterrey hiking, you must go check out Cerro El Chupón
  • Just wait until you encounter the phenomenal scenery at the end of the trail, you will be pleasantly surprised

2. Circuito Cerro El Chupón

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to Circuito Cerro El Chupón: Just like the other trail, head South of Monterrey on Paseo Murazano until you get to Caraglio 
  • Duration of hike: This trail takes most people around 2 hours to complete
  • Trail length: 2.9 miles
  • Elevation: 1,207 feet

  • So far I haven’t found anyone who has had real complaints about this phenomenal loop trail
  • This trial is one of the most worthy hikes I’ve encountered anywhere around this area
  • You will become obsessed with the mountainous views that surround this gorgeous hike
  • Another hefty bonus that you will encounter on this hike is some of the most unique flowers around
  • For Monterrey hiking, you don’t want to miss out on this trail, make some memories!

1. Camino El Chupón

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to Camino El Chupón: Head exactly where we went to get to the last trail, you will see the signs
  • Duration of hike: This trail takes most people around 1 hour and a half to complete
  • Trail length: 1.3 miles
  • Elevation: 1,049 feet
  • More information: Camino el Chupón 
  • This trail is going to leave you breathless, whether that’s due to the overall beauty of the trial or how difficult it is… is anyone’s guess. All jokes aside you are going to love this trail
  • In terms of Monterrey hiking, you will have some trouble finding a hike that is of a higher class than this beauty
  • I would recommend you to be on this trail for sunset, it’s an otherworldly experience
  • If you don’t want to see many people on your hiking extravaganza, you are going to love this trail even more. There aren’t usually many people on this trail
  • If you really want to have a riot of a time, aim to do both this trail and the last one. You will have an exceptional time navigating through them
  • The reason I made this trail as my number one on my list of top 5 hiking trails in Monterrey, Mexico is completely because of the views, mixed with the perfect distance of 1.3 miles
