5. Arroyo de Valdebebas
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to Arroyo de Valdebebas: Head South of Alcobendas, directly South of Encinar de Los Reyes. The trail will be right off of Calle San Enrique de Osso
- Duration of hike: This hike will most likely take you roughly 1 hour
- Trail length: 2.7 miles
- Elevation: 147 feet

- This might just be one of the most perfect starter trails on the planet! If you are a beginner I would highly encourage you to come over here and give this trail an attempt
- One of my favorite things about this trail is that it is a loop trail
- This trail comes along with many benefits. For example, it’s wheelchair friendly, stroller friendly, you can go bike touring, you can walk dogs, and it’s partially paved
- When it comes to Madrid hiking, you may find it difficult to find trails with half as many options as this trail
4. Ruta Madrid Río
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to Ruta Madrid Río: You’ll find this trail directly West of Madrid, North of Jardines del Campo del Moro
- Duration of hike: You can expect to take roughly 3 hours to complete this trail
- Trail length: 7.9 miles
- Elevation: 580 feet

- This is a great trail for getting to know more about the city of Madrid. So if you are new to Madrid and want to explore it, this will fulfill your needs incredibly well
- You can walk dogs on this trail, go mountain biking and view historical areas
- When it comes to Madrid hiking, I’ve learned not to discount this trail
- Calling this a trail could seem disingenuous according to some individuals considering this trail consists of walking around the city… but it is such an extraordinary time
3. Arroyo Fresno – Pitis – El Pardo
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Arroyo Fresno – Pitis – El Pardo: Head North West of Madrid, directly North West of Mirasierr. You will find it right off of Calle de Ramon Gomez de la Serna
- Duration of hike: The average person will take around 5 hours to complete this trail
- Trail length: 13 miles
- Elevation: 1,233 feet

- This marvelous trail is not only excellent for walking but also mountain biking so if you also want to dust off your bicycle skills, this would be a perfect fit
- You might be happy to know this is a loop trail that cyclists favor. However, do not worry, hiking is loved on this trail as well
- This trail single-handedly brings Madrid hiking to a transcendently brilliant level
- On this trail, you can expect to capture the beauty in the mountains, and it’s open throughout the entire year
2. Circular Casa de Campo
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Circular Casa de Campo: Head directly West of Madrid, you will find the trail West of Lago de la Casa de Campo
- Duration of hike: This trail takes roughly 2 and a half hours to complete on average
- Trail length: 7.3 miles
- Elevation: 508 feet

- This trail is open year-round so fear not what time of year it is, you are free to hike to your heart’s content when it comes to this trail
- This is another beautiful loop trail to which you will obsess over the lake, views, and the overall wildlife
- One of the negatives about this trial is that there isn’t much shade to be had when venturing through this hike. Another potential negative is a lot of people find the beginning of the trail to be quite bland
1. Parque Lineal del Manzanares
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to Parque Lineal del Manzanares: Head a bit South East of Madrid towards San Fermin. You’ll find the trail directly off of Camino de Perales
- Duration of hike: On average, you can expect to finish this trail in roughly half an hour
- Trail length: 1.6 mile
- Elevation: 82 feet
- More information: Parque Lineal del Manzanares
- Considering this is the shortest trail on the list if you don’t have much time, I recommend pursuing this trail… On top of how incredible it already inherently is
- This is another trail that gives you a lot of options. It’s wheelchair-friendly, partially paved, stroller friendly, and it’s great for running
- In terms of Madrid hiking, I chose this as the number 1 trail on the list of top 5 best hikes in Madrid Spain because not only is it easy and short… it’s also filled with joyous life in terms of views and environments
- I would highly advise you to go on this trail if you could only choose one
