5. Rose Hill Park
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to Rose Hill Park: Head South West of Winchester and South East of Opequon. Directly beside Highway 621 you will find the entrance, make sure you go directly North of The Rose Hill Farm
- Duration of hike: On average this hike will take you at least half an hour
- Trail length: 1.3 miles
- Elevation: 85 feet
- More information: Rose Hill Park
- This is definitely the easiest trail of the entire list. Though I must tell you that is not saying much as none of the trails on the list are very challenging.
- If you are really adventurous you will find trails off of the trail that you can certainly go explore if that is what your heart seeks
- In terms of Winchester hiking, one cannot go wrong with a decision to hike Rose Hill Park
- The only warning I will give you about Rose Hill Park is to beware, for it is unchallenging to become completely enamored with this trail
4. Third Winchester Battlefield Park: Red Bud Run Trail
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to The Third Winchester Battlefield Park: Red Bud Run Trail: Head North East and you will find the trail directly off of Highway 661 (Redbud Road)
- Duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 2 hours to complete this trail
- Trail length: 5.1 miles
- Elevation: 265 feet

- If you are into history at all, this is going to be the trail you may fall in line with out of the entire list
- On this trail, you are able to go mountain biking, let kids roam the outback, walk your dogs and view a large quantity of unique birds
- The trail is also very well maintained though there doesn’t seem to be an actual trail route so you don’t need to follow any particular path. This could be a positive… or a negative depending on your mentality when it comes to hiking
- The Third Winchester Battlefield Park has to be listed whenever someone forms a list about Winchester Hiking
3. Winchester green circle trail
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to The Winchester green circle trail: Directly South East of downtown Winchester lies this trail. It technically is directly to the left of Shenandoah University.
- Duration of hike: The average person takes around 2 hours to complete this hike
- Trail length: 6.4 miles
- Elevation: 255 feet
- More information: Winchester Green Circle Trail
- This could be considered my favorite on the list… on some days. It’s such a pleasant and well-rounded trail
- Out of all the trails, this is my favorite trail in terms of getting to know the city of Winchester so if you are a visitor or new to the area… I would recommend this trail most of all
- Though the entire trail is paved, I would not recommend this trail for running or bicycling because it can get a bit hectic. Though it is perfect for when it comes to running
- Besides pursuing the trail itself, there are many things you can do outside of the trail considering you are near the downtown portion of Winchester
2. Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Loop Trail
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Loop Trail: You can find this trail directly West of downtown Winchester. Off Interstate Highway 50, you will see a loop, go past the loop and you will see the entrance
- Duration of hike: The average person will take roughly 50 minutes to complete this trail
- Trail length: 2.1 miles
- Elevation: 141 feet
- More information: Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Loop Trail
- The unique thing about this trail is that there are multiple options for choosing trails and it’s directly outside of the museum
- This trail is wheelchair-friendly, kid-friendly, stroller-friendly, is filled with lots of wildlife, and has some real history to it
- One of the potential downsides of this trail is that if you are looking for a lot of shade you probably aren’t going to find it on this trail
- When I think of the conceptual idea of Winchester hiking, The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Loop Trail will always hold a special place
1. Tuscarora Trail: Biby Trailhead to Route 50
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Tuscarora Trail: Biby Trailhead to Route 50: Head to the East of Rock Enon Springs and the trail will begin directly off Timber Ridge Trail
- Duration of hike: The average person will take roughly 4 hours to complete this luxurious trail
- Trail length: 8.8 miles
- Elevation: 318 feet

- Welcome to the golden shrine of Winchester, Virginia hikes. All you need is this trail… but in all seriousness, I fully believe you should hike on more trails than just this one
- If you are interested in a longer hike, this is your time to shine.
- On this trail, you can expect to purely be with mother nature, you will love this so much, it’s incredible
- Needless to say… when it comes to Winchester hiking, this wins the cake for the best trail if I was forced to pick one
- This is a wonderful trail to go on during a sunny day because there is a considerable amount of shady areas
- The only bad thing is that when you go on the trail there might be spots that are in need of maintenance and you will have to work a way around them
