5 – St. George’s Trailhead
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- How to get to St. George’s Trailhead: Head North of Spokane and West of Fairwood to W St George’s School Road and you’ll see the elegant signs
- Time duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 3 and a half hours to complete this hike
- Length: 6.8 miles
- Elevation gain: 1,279 feet
- More information: Saint George’s Trail to Little Spokane River
- St. George’s Trailhead is an excellent trail around the Spokane, Washington area.
- Make sure you have sufficient time to hike this trail considering the near 7-mile journey does indeed have some elevation to it
- You probably won’t see many people on this trail so if you enjoy low-populated areas you may want to check out St. George’s Trailhead
- This may seem like my least favorite in terms of my top 5 best hikes in Spokane, Washington. However, this is an exceptional trail given you have sufficient time.
- Bring lots of bug repellent if you do decide to brave the wild and join in the memory lane that is St. George’s Trailhead. You can expect lots of bugs
4 – Riverside State Park – Bowl and pitcher area
- Difficulty Level: Easy
- How to get to Riverside State Park – Bowl and pitcher area: Head North West of Spokane and go to the left of The Mann-Grandstaff VA medical center. Get on N Aubrey L White Parkway and you’ll see signs for it
- Time duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 40 minutes or so to finish this trail
- Length: 2.0 miles
- Elevation gain: 124 feet
- More information: Bowl and Pitcher Loop Trail
- You are guaranteed to love Riverside State Park, especially if you are a lover of loops as half as much as I am.
- This is a loop trail with little to no elevation, how much more could you fall in love with one trial?
- You can walk your dog with a leash, go mountain biking, or hike with your kids. I’ll have you know that this trail is also partially paved!
- I had no choice but to include Riverside State Park in my list of best hikes in Spokane, Washington. It is such a brilliant and small trail
- The large suspended bridge might seem to be a menace but I can assure you that not only its elegance but its stability is top notch
- You’ll have access to water along with beautiful scenic views
3 – Indian Canyon Mystic Falls
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- How to get to Indian Canyon Mystic Falls: Head South West of Spokane and go to the left of The Indian Canyon Golf Course. You’ll find it directly off of South Indian Canyon Drive
- Time duration of hike: This may take you on average an hour or so
- Length: 1.45 miles
- Elevation gain: 184 feet

- You cannot go wrong with a nice hike on Indian Canyon Mystic Falls. As the name suggests, you are going to find a beautiful waterfall on this trail
- If you loathe hills you will also enjoy this primarily flat trail. If you have some extra time and you already checked out some wonderful trails, come check out Indian Painted Rocks.
- Make sure you pay attention to the time of year you want to visit, depending on if you want to see a gushing waterfall, come early in the year. If you are in it primarily for the hike and not the waterfall come any time you want
- Considering this trail isn’t even 2 miles, is low elevation, and includes an earth-shatteringly beautiful waterfall… I believe it would be a tragedy for you not to visit Indian Canyon Mystic Falls if you are near the Spokane area.
2 – Indian Painted Rocks Trailhead
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- How to get to Indian Painted Rocks Trailhead: Head a bit North West of Spokane, West of Fairwood. Get on W Rutter Parkway until you see the signs and parking for Indian Painted Rocks.
- Time duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 3 hours to complete this trail
- Length: 6.8 miles
- Elevation gain: 1,049 feet

- This hike is staggeringly beautiful. I remember the feeling of how I felt and the sensations that were going through the metaphysics of my life. I’m not trying to say this hike is life-changing, but it certainly can be.
- This is another one of my favorite trails, particularly because it is also a loop trail! You know how I love my loop trails
- Now there are a few challenging areas on this hike. However, I would have to say the entirety of this trail is quite easily achievable even if you don’t consistently hike
- This is by far one of the most scenic hikes around the Spokane area. Prepare yourself for a tremendous and dream-like experience
- I put this in my list of top 5 best hikes in Spokane, Washington simply because of the absolute marvels that are the views on this trail
1 – Military Cemetary Trailhead
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- How to get to Military Cemetary Trailhead: Head West of Spokane and go North of Palisades Park. Get on W Government Way until you find N Houston Road and you’ll be right beside The Military Cemetary Trailhead
- Time duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 2 and a half hours to complete this hike
- Length: 5.8 miles
- Elevation gain: 534 feet

- Are you ready for my all-time favorite Spokane, Washington hike?
- This is my number one in reference to my top 5 best hikes in Spokane, Washington simply because of its beauty and being that it is of a decent length along with being my favorite kind of trail which is of the luxurious loop style.
- On top of hiking, you can even go horseback riding on the Military Cemetary trail
- This trails massively low elevation is another large reason I love it so much. I may enjoy hills but sometimes you just want to have a more relaxing hike
- My highest recommendation with this trail is to plan to come back right at the peak of sunset, you will be in for some of the most beautiful views ever found
- Even though you can certainly attack this trail in the winter… I would advise against it and to go when a more comfortable temperature arises
- One of the only bad things about this trail is that it can be difficult to see the trail markers. Besides that, this trail is quintessentially perfect in my opinion
