5. Cascada de Despeñalagua
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Cascada de Despeñalagua: Head to the village of Valverde de los Arroyos, get on Calle Medio, and you should see it at the end of the road
- Duration of hike: The average person takes around 1 hour to complete this trail
- Trail length: 2.5 miles
- Elevation: 396 feet

- If you love infamous views along with gorgeous waterfalls, this trail is probably going to knock your socks off
- This will most certainly not be the easiest trail you have ever encountered. Do be wary if you are a beginner when it comes to hiking. However, if you are an avid hiker, you should have no issue at all with this trail
- One thing I’m positive about is that you will vigorously enjoy the city views along with the stream and waterfall on this hike
4. Salto de Poveda – Laguna de Taravilla
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Salto de Poveda – Laguna de Taravilla: Head East of Poveda de la Sierra. You will head southeast on C. Horno, turn right on Callc la Pl, turn left onto C. Real, turn left onto CM-210 for a while and finally make a sharp right
- Duration of hike: This trial will take about 1 hour and a half on average
- Trail length: 3.7 miles
- Elevation: 508 feet

- In terms of hiking Guadalajara, you cannot go wrong with this trail
- This incredible trail includes a forest, lake, river, and an enrapturing waterfall
- If you don’t want to see many people, you will adore this trail even more considering you probably will not see anyone else on this trail
3. Cascades del Aljibe
- Difficulty: Moderate
- How to get to Cascades del Aljibe: Head to the village of Roblelascasa, get on Calle de la Fuente and you will see the trail
- Duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 2 hours to complete this trail
- Trail length: 4.0 miles
- Elevation: 666 feet

- If you adore cows, impeccable waterfalls, and beautiful trails… you are going to fall in love with this trail
- The only bad thing about this trail is that you won’t encounter much shade when it comes to this trail. However, you will encounter a lot of beauty
- This is one of the easiest trails to follow that I have encountered in quite some time.
- For hiking Guadalajara, I would highly recommend this trail
2. Pelegrina – Cascada del Gollorio
- Difficulty: Easy
- How to get to Pelegrina – Cascada del Gollorio: Head to the small village of Pelegrina and the trail will be off of Calle Solana
- Duration of hike: This trail will take you approximately 1 hour and a half to complete
- Trail length: 3.4 miles
- Elevation: 472 feet

- The image you receive when you think of outdoorsy is exactly the word that encompasses this trail
- This is another trail that includes a dazzling fall of water
- Another thing you will encounter on this trail is a large variety of inquisitive wildlife
- When it comes to hiking Guadalajara, I would recommend visiting this trail in the fall. You will be floored with not only the simplicity but the overall lusciousness of this trail
1. Megina – Lagunataravilla
- Difficulty: Hard
- How to get to Megina – Lagunataravilla: Head directly to the small town of Megina and you will see the trail entrance at the end of Calle Tejuela
- Duration of hike: This short hike on average will take you roughly 14 hours to complete
- Trail length: 31.1 miles
- Elevation: 4,740 feet

- I’m not going to lie, not only is this trail over 31 miles but it’s also a rugged and difficult one
- I have included this trail for the absolute animals that are ready to take on a much more difficult trail than the rest that I have listed. While this trail is indeed more difficult, you will be pleasantly rewarded by the many pieces of treasure that will be laid out in front of you

- I have listed this trail as my number one in terms of the top 5 hiking trails in Guadalajara, Spain because of its sheer amount of variety, difficulty, and the incredible views
