5. Paseo de los Cocoteros Sur

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Paseo de los Cocoteros Sur: Make your way West of Nuevo Vallarta and your destination will be directly beside Avenida Paseo de los Cocoteros
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 1 hour to complete this journey
  • Trail length: 3.1 miles
  • Elevation: 75 feet

  • I would highly encourage you to go on this trail, especially if you are going to be biking or running
  • With an entire 75 feet of elevation, why wouldn’t you want to try this trail out, at least?
  • This is a paved route in which you will have easy access to restaurants, pharmacies, and many other kinds of stores 
  • When it comes to hiking near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I would recommend coming on this trail if you have a small amount of time and want to shop reasonably close

4. Valle el Nogalito

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Valle el Nogalito: Head South of Puerto Vallarta utilizing interstate highway 200 until you reach El Nogalito then follow it until the end
  • Duration of hike: This trail will probably take you at least 1 hour to complete
  • Trail length: 1.6 mile
  • Elevation: 419 feet
  • More information: Valle el Nogalito 
  • This may be the most debated trail I have on the list. There are varying opinions on this trail so it isn’t one you are guaranteed to love. However, I would still recommend checking it out
  • If you decide to take this trail that a lot of people don’t like, just think to yourself, overall it’s not even 2 miles with a small amount of elevation
  • My favorite attribute of this trail is that it is a loop trail which I of course adore

3. Marina y Playa Cruz de Huanacaxtle

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Marina y Playa Cruz de Huanacaxtle: Head East of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and it’s directly off of Avenida de le Langosta
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes around 1 hour to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 3.0  miles
  • Elevation: 72 feet

  • If you are looking for an undemanding and beautiful hike, look no further for this is the perfect package
  • This trial unlike the last one isn’t debated. People have a lot of adoration when it comes to this trail, just like myself
  • The only possible negative that surrounds this trail is the sun. You won’t have many seconds without cover of the sun on this trail
  • When you are hiking near Puerto Vallarta, I would say you absolutely must come here

2. Mirador Cerro de la Cruz

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Mirador Cerro de la Cruz: Head South of Puerto Vallarta, get on Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, and switch to Carranza
  • Duration of hike: The average person takes roughly 20 whole minutes to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 0.5 mile
  • Elevation: 141 feet
  • More information: Mirador Cerro de la Cruz 
  • This trail and the next trail are the juiciest parts of this entire list, I would highly recommend them both. With this being a mere half a mile with 141 elevation, sacrifice the 20 minutes for a better tomorrow
  • It’s staggering that one of the most beautiful hikes around here could only be half a mile in length. This also happens to be a loop trail, you are going to obsess over this trail
  • Forming a list for hiking near Puerto Vallarta… I had no choice but to include this marvelous trail
  • My favorite things about this trail are the views, they’re unbelievable

1. Malecón Puerto Vallarta

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to Malecón Puerto Vallarta: This trail is also South of Puerto Vallarta. Head West of Gringo Gulch and get on Malecon (directly next to Bahía de Banderas)
  • Duration of hike: Similar to the last trail, the average person will take an hour to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 2.4 miles
  • Elevation: 328 feet

  • Here we are, one of the most beautiful trails anywhere around the area. If you love beaches come on over
  • You can walk dogs, bring your kids, or strollers, use a bike, go running and also view beautiful historic areas on this trail
  • You have lots of shops and restaurants along this trail, beautiful beach views and you will encounter many breathtaking scenes along the way
  • The reason that I included this trail as number 1 in my list of top 5 hiking trails in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is that this one single trail provides everything in one mesmerizing package
