5 – Turkey Mountain, Yellow Trail

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to The Turkey Mountain, Yellow Trail: Head South West of Tulsa towards Cecille Bales Park. On the South Eastern part of Cecile Bales Park off of Interstate Highway 75, you’ll find Turkey Mountain
  • Duration of walk: The average person takes around 1 hour and a half to complete the trail
  • Trail length: 3.7 miles
  • Elevation: 377 feet
  • More information: Turkey Mountain Via Yellow Trail 
  • The chance of you disliking anything about this trail is probably around 10% but keep scrolling down if you want that chance to go to nearly 0%
  • You can go horseback riding, mountain biking, running, and bring your kids on this trail
  • If you do not want to hike with people, this trail may not be for you considering there are usually many people on this trail
  • For walking trails Tulsa would be much smaller without Turkey Mountain, you have to check this place out sometime  
  • This may be the hardest trail on the list in terms of overall difficulty
  • No matter the difficulty, you are going to form many memories on this trail

4 – LaFortune Trail Loop

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to The LaFortune Trail Loop: Head to the LaFortune County Park which is in the Southern part of Tulsa
  • Duration of walk: The average person takes around 1 hour to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 3.2 miles
  • Elevation: 121 feet
  • More information: LaFortune Trail Loop 
  • LaFortune Trail Loop is just what it sounds… an absolute fortune of a find
  • Remember that if it’s an incredibly hot day, you may want to avoid this trail considering there’s nearly 0% shade throughout the entirety of the trail
  • While it may not be shady on this trail, it is a very easy and friendly trail to be on
  • If you are familiar with my posts you know how much I adore loop trails. This loop trail goes around an extensive golf course 
  • LaFortune Trail Loop has to be on a list for walking trails Tulsa considering how phenomenal this trail is
  • This is a great and easy trail if you just want to get out and breathe some fresh air

3 – Powerline Trail

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • How to get to The Powerline Trail: Head to the same exact area as the Turkey Trail but this time you are going to go on The Powerline Trail
  • Duration of walk: The average person takes around 1 hour to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 2.9 miles
  • Elevation: 436 feet
  • More information: Powerline Trail 
  • This gorgeous trail is a lot better than it sounds and it can certainly be a nice break from society
  • This may be the lowest populated trail on Turkey Mountain. So if you do not like being around many people, definitely choose this beautiful trail
  • In terms of walking trails Tulsa, I would recommend going to this trail if you are simultaneously feeling bored and adventurous
  • The only possible downside with this trail is in my opinion, all of the vitriolic rocks
  • Your chances of regret when it comes to this trail are meager… unless you despise rocks a lot more than I

2 – Mary K. Oxley Nature Center Loop

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to The Mary K. Oxley Nature Center Loop: Head a bit North of Tulsa above the airport. You can get on North Mingo Road until you reach Mohawk Boulevard then keep going until you get to Mohawk Park
  • Duration of walk: The average person takes roughly 50 minutes to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 2.6 miles
  • Elevation: 6 whole feet
  • More information: Mary K. Oxley Nature Center Loop 
  • I know what you are thinking, 6 feet of elevation, how on Earth are you going to finish this trail?
  • If you are aiming to challenge yourself above the easiest walks and hikes in the world… this is a trail you may want to avoid 
  • This is definitely not a trail you want to be on shortly after it rains. So if possible avoid it whenever rain has recently struck upon it
  • This is one of the most peaceful trails I’ve been on. So in terms of walking trails Tulsa, this takes the cake in terms of utter tranquility
  • On this trail, in terms of wildlife, you’re nearly guaranteed to see some beautiful deer

1 – Riverparks West Bank Trail

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • How to get to The Riverparks West Bank Trail: Just like 2 other trails on my list, head to Turkey Mountain and go to the Southernmost trail
  • Duration of walk: The average person takes roughly 1 hour and a half to complete this trail
  • Trail length: 4.2 miles
  • Elevation: 177 feet
  • More information: Riverparks West Bank Trail 
  • This is by far my favorite trail on this entire list, this trail to me is an incredible find
  • While there is a tiny bit of incline you will most likely have no issue at all with hiking this unbelievable trail
  • On top of the outright beauty lies much shade to be had. Whether it’s sunny and hot or cold and cloudy this trail will be an excellent addition to your walking endeavors
  • If you are a person that wants to sit often, you will be happy to hear there are many benches surrounding the trail
  • When it comes to people, you won’t actually see many people on this path unlike some of the trails I listed above
  • What makes this trail unique and why I listed it as number one on my list of top 5 walking trails in Tulsa, Oklahoma is because of the consistent and immensely beautiful views throughout this trail
